GO Marine Services’ Personnel and Logistics Coordinator Angi Little knows it’s often tough for many who log long overnight hours on offshore vessels traveling rapidly through successive different time zones, which is why she always makes it a point to answer occasional calls about mundane administrative matters like paychecks at 2 or 3 a.m.
Little is one of the key points of contact for GO Marine Services contractors traveling back and forth to ports throughout the United States, Central and South America. On call virtually 24/7, she books flights, arranges transportation and follows through to make sure all GO Marine Services crew members get to their assigned vessel, as well as return home safely when they’re done with a job.
“Getting a helping hand and hearing a friendly voice can do wonders to keep someone on track,” she explains. “Our people are like my family or my children and it’s my job to help keep them motivated so they can do theirs and represent GO Marine Services to the best of their ability.”
Little’s easygoing manner and her petite frame belie her hardcore industrial staffing experience, which includes having worked at a major multinational oil services company in the Middle East for 13 years. She handled housing logistics for contractors and military members stationed there as well.
Little learned her trademark empathy during high school while working with her mother, a human resources specialist. In fact, much like Deanna Troi, the Star Trek character who uses her telepathic talents to diffuse and de-escalate tensions, Little’s ability to act quickly as a mediator in tough situations got her noticed in these first five months since she came to GO Marine Services.
“I simply come with a calm tone and don’t blame. I let people speak and vent and then try to elevate them in some way to assure them they matter,” she explained. “I’ve always remained humble and treated everyone with the same respect, no matter what position they’re in.”
Little, who enjoys dancing, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and close friends, hopes to pass along her good values to her new grandson, who is nearly two years old.
